BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—David Stahl does it all.
Stahl is the owner of Dig It All Stahl Excavating, a company he started just over a year ago. The bulk of his business is excavating work, but as he likes to say, “If you can think it, we can dig it.”
The company, 2099 Temple Road, also offers fence row trimming, land clearing, and pond digging, plus any kind of site preparation work, building pads, driveway tiling, mulching, and fencing for livestock, Stahl said.
He’s a one-man operation for now but has a fleet of heavy equipment to get the job done, he said, including a skid loader, grabble buckets, mulcher, and excavator with multiple attachments. “When I need bigger equipment, I just rent it.”
Stahl, a native of Bucyrus, has nearly 25 years’ experience “digging dirt.” He worked at Mike Lyon Construction in Caledonia for many years and at an excavating firm in Marion until that company closed.
Since he also helps his father with his cattle farm down the road, he said branching out on his own was a win-win, allowing him the flexibility to also bale hay when needed and do other farm jobs along with excavating services.
Stahl said Dig It All Stahl Excavating has a dump truck for hauling and can remove debris, do demolition work, put in stone driveways, and maintain pond and ditch banks for landowners. “We do some concrete work here and there.”
The Wynford High School graduate said his plans are to eventually hire another person and expand the business. “I do have help from a friend when I need it. I’m planning on getting bigger. That’s my goal, to grow.”

“I’m out here trying to do a service for people. I treat every job like it’s my job,” Stahl said. “I try to do it how I would want it done in my place.”
