The Buckeye Central Bucks opened their season edging out the South Central Trojans 44-43.
The Bucks, who were led by Grant Loy’s game high 14 points, opened up the game trailing 12-8 after the first period. The Bucks chopped away at the four point deficit in the second period outscoring the Trojans 12-9 to trail 21-20 at the half. Buckeye Central took over the lead in the third quarter after outscoring South Central 16-9 for a 36-30 lead.
Jacob Shade added 12 points to the Bucks victorious effort.
South Central was led by Aaron Lamoroux’s 13 points and Michael Ponchel’s 11 points.
The Wynford Lady Royals were downed by the Riverdale Lady Falcons 63-40 Saturday night.
The Lady Royals, who were led by Alyssa Harrer’s 12 points, trailed the Lady Falcons by 2 points at the end of the first quarter by a score of 10-8. The Lady Falcons took flight in the second quarter outscoring the Lady Royals 29-8 to go into the half with a 39-16 lead. The third quarter saw Riverdale outscore Wynford 18-12 for a 57-28 lead going into the final stanza.
The Lady Falcons were led by Lexie Wright’s game high 24 points, Sydney Holderman’s 16 points, and Reygan Frey’s 11 points.
