Match Day is tomorrow and local organizations are looking to get a little boost from the community.
The Community Foundation for Crawford County is matching donations made to each organization involved in Match Day, which is held in conjunction with #GivingTuesday.
“We are again holding our annual Match Day on #GivingTuesday,” Lisa Workman, the Foundation’s president stated earlier this month. “Since so much of the success of #GivingTuesday revolves around using social media to raise funds, we are inviting Crawford County to join our virtual party.”
Workman added that on Dec. 1, the Foundation’s board has agreed to match up to $25,000 to the agencies, schools, and scholarship funds for whom the money is being raised.
The funds will go toward a variety of interests, such as the $7,000 being raised for the Crestline Historical Society, $5,000 being raised for the Bucyrus Public Library’s Maynard Fund, the $5,000 that will benefit the Harvey School Endowment Fund, or schools’ education foundations.
Loren’s Cancer Care Fund is raising $500 to distribute to the oncology departments at the Bucyrus and Galion community hospitals for the purchase of non-budgetary items for the comfort of cancer patients receiving treatments while the Friends of the Crawford Park District is raising $500.
