BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Lady Red opened the tennis season at home, dropping a 5-0 to Tiffin Columbian.
Ella Green fell to the Tornadoes’ Leah Weingart, 1-6, 0-6 in first singles. Elise Johnston bested Kate Brennstuhl, 6-0, 6-2 in second singles. Leah Wahl got past Lily Engelhorn, 6-2, 6-1 in third singles.
In first doubles, Olivia Dotson and Mia Daniel held off Emma Graves and Addie Weber, 6-3, 6-3. Mackenzie Feiske and Angela Nominer defeated Mya Rothaar and Savannah Clark, 6-2, 6-0.
In junior varsity doubles matches, Bucyrus’ Lexi Farnwalt and Maci Messerschmidt won 8-0. Lady Faye McCoy and Layla Swerlein came out on top, 8-2.
Madi Kepler and Savannah Clark took an 8-6 decision and Amirah Price and Adalyn Zornes fell, 6-8.
Bucyrus returns to action with a road trip to Galion on Monday.
