The long-time director of the Crawford County Council on Aging has informed that agency’s Board of Trustees of her intention to retire next year. Margaret “Peg” Wells told the board she will retire at the end of February.
Wells began working at the agency in 1996 as its In-Home Services Director and in 2002 became the Executive Director, a role she has held since that time. Wells’ leadership of the
agency is credited for the development of the newly formed Senior Activities Program and the expansion of the food service program for seniors including the current construction of a new kitchen.
Wells has overseen continued service to Crawford County residents through the agency’s transportation program and increased public awareness of the organization through many public engagements as well as increasing units of service provided over prior years.
The Board of Trustees will accept resumes` from those interested in the position through Dec. 4.
