Photo galleries are a big part of Crawford County Now and we love sharing them with everyone. But . . . we’ll totally admit that the way they were set up in the past wasn’t exactly ideal.
So, here’s some good news: we have a new way to display our galleries. Yay!
First off, all photo galleries taken before Nov. 12, 2015 will now be located in our Archived Photos page. (Special note: all of the photo galleries on the Archived Photos page will still appear using the old method). Click on Photos on the drop down menu for any photo galleries added on or after that date.
What does that mean for you? Well, for everyone that has a limited amount of patience and closed the page before the photo gallery could load . . . wait no more! There should no longer be a lag time. Well, other than any issues you personally have with your internet speed. We can’t help you with that, sorry.
For those of you that didn’t like to sit through the entire photo gallery just to see one specific picture – we’ve fixed that, too! All of the photos in that specific gallery will be set up in a grid pattern. You’ll see a square – sort of like a thumbnail preview – of the picture. You can click on that specific picture to view it bigger or start from the beginning and check them all out.
The speed at which you view the gallery is also up to you. No more waiting for the next picture to appear or not having enough time to view the photo that you absolutely loved. Just click on the photo you want to see and it’ll appear larger with a black background. Whenever you’re done viewing that photo, click on it or hit the arrows on the left and right of your screen to see more. To exit out of the photo gallery, simply click anywhere on the black background or click the exit button in the top left corner.
For those viewing the photo gallery on a mobile device, this is a special gift just for you. When you click on a photo to view it larger, it will fill your device’s screen. The times of seeing half the picture on the screen because it didn’t adjust to mobile viewing is long gone. Just swipe left or right to view the rest of the gallery. There’s a small exit button in the top left corner to exit out of the gallery.
You also have the ability to comment on the photos. Play nice, however. We are watching you.
