MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A young boy was pronounced dead at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital on Thursday afternoon after being left inside a hot vehicle. Emergency responders received a 911 call around 2:30 p.m. from a location on Wood Street, prompting immediate action from Mansfield police and a fire department rescue squad.

Reports indicate that a woman, who was driving the car, arrived at her workplace and left her approximately 5-year-old son in the backseat.

Upon discovering the child unconscious in the car, paramedics swiftly transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Mansfield Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
