MARION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Marion County will honor the memory of fallen Morrow County Deputy Daniel Weston Sherrer with a funeral procession scheduled to pass through the area around 1:30 p.m.

The procession will begin on State Route 95 before heading north on State Route 98. It will then turn west on State Route 309, entering the City of Marion. Within the city, the procession will travel along E. Center Street, turn south onto S. Main Street, and continue down Delaware Avenue. The route will conclude at Vernon Heights Boulevard, leading into the Marion Cemetery for a private ceremony for Deputy Sherrer’s family.

While traffic disruptions are not expected to be significant, drivers are advised to be mindful of the procession’s presence and consider avoiding the listed routes during that time.

Marion County Sheriff Matt Bayles and Marion Police Chief Jay McDonald are encouraging citizens to show their support by lining the streets along the procession route. Community members are invited to gather safely on sidewalks and other designated areas to pay their respects to Deputy Sherrer, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, and the law enforcement community.
