SYCAMORE (Crawford County Now) — Mohawk downed Upper Sandusky in a 12-8 slugfest here Tuesday night to win the outright Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball championship.
A five-run third inning keyed the win for the Lady Warriors (23-5, 12-2).
Mallory Brickner homered and Emily Brickner and Aubrey Gottfried smacked doubles for Mohawk. Emily Brickner had three hits.
Mohawk added three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings. Upper Sandusky rallied for two in the fifth and five in the sixth but fell short for the second time this season.
Madison Hart, N10 Player of the Year, had a pair of doubles for the Lady Rams.
Upper Sandusky (17-7, 9-4) has one makeup game with Wynford yet to be scheduled, while Mohawk plays in the Division VIII regional at Bowling Green State University at 2 p.m. today.
