MORROW COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—On March 13, 2025, the Morrow County Grand Jury returned an indictment against Mary Spaeth and Terry Stubblefield for one count of Cruelty to a Companion Animal, a fifth-degree felony. The indictment followed an investigation conducted by the Morrow County Humane Society, with assistance from the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, the Morrow County Dog Warden, and the Morrow County Prosecutor’s Office.

An arraignment for the defendants is scheduled to take place on March 28, 2025.

Morrow County Prosecutor Andrew Wick emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

He urged the community to allow the justice system to proceed without interference and cautioned against any retaliatory actions directed at the individuals named in the indictment.

The charges have sparked strong emotions within the community, highlighting the importance of addressing such issues through appropriate legal channels.
