BUCYRUS (Crawford County Now) — The field of the 57th Bucyrus Ladies Invitational was reduced to four bowlers.
In losers’ bracket action at Suburban Lanes on Tuesday, Terri Bonham rolled a sparkling 1051 series to defeat Tascha Ridgeway, who had an 876. Heather McLaughlin held off Robin Pangallo, 967-928, Emily Groves defeated Tricia Perry, 974-918, and Gloria Huber dropped Kathy Eimer, 926-821.
That pared the field to eight, as Ridgeway, Pangallo, Perry, and Eimer were eliminated.
On Saturday, Michelle Stahl got past Charlie Britt, 899-851 and Carolyn Hendrickson upended Patricia Horsley, 1026-929 in the winners’ bracket.
Bonham edged Groves, 962-936, in the losers’ bracket and McLaughlin knocked off Huber, 912-822. Groves and Huber left the field.
Sunday’s losers’ backet competition featured two close matches. McLaughlin edged Horsley, 972-955, and Bonham squeezed past Britt, 935-913. Horsley and Britt were eliminated.
Tournament action resumes on Tuesday. In the winners’ bracket, Hendrickson will meet Stahl and McLaughlin takes on Bonham in the losers’ bracket.
Two survivors will return to Suburban Lanes on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the championship. Scores are based on four game series with handicap.
