CRESTLINE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—In a collaboration between Crawford County libraries and the Crawford Park District, renowned photographer and author Ian Adams will be speaking at the Lowe-Volk Nature Center in Leesville at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 1. Adams will present a program about his latest book, “This Place of Silence,” an anthology of Ohio’s cemeteries.

A photo display of Adams’ work will also be available for viewing at the Lowe-Volk Nature Center from January 25 through February 28.

Adams is an environmental photographer, writer, and educator specializing in Ohio’s natural, rural, historical, and garden areas. He has published 24 books of color photography, including “Our First Family’s Home: The Ohio Governor’s Residence & Heritage Garden,” “Backroads of Ohio,” and “Cuyahoga Valley National Park.” His other notable works include “A Photographer’s Guide To Ohio, Vols. 1 and 2,” and “Ohio in Photographs: A Portrait of the Buckeye State,” co-photographed with Randall Schieber.

An avid iPhone photographer, Adams released his eBook, “iPhone Landscape & Nature Photography,” in September 2018. Since 1989, he has produced 65 Ohio calendars and conducted over 200 seminars and workshops in nature, garden, and digital photography throughout North America. He also taught digital photography at Ohio State University’s Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster, Ohio, from 2010 to 2019.

Several of Adams’ books will be awarded as door prizes, which he will be available to sign. Additional books will be available for purchase.

The event is sponsored by the Galion FRIENDS of the Library, Bucyrus FRIENDS of the Library, Crestline Public Library, and the Crawford Parks. It is free to the public, with no reservations required, though seating is limited.
