BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)- On October 30, 2024, at approximately 6:53 PM, Deputy Ben Petrie conducted a traffic stop on Lincoln Highway, near State Route 598, due to an equipment violation. The driver, Douglas Swart, 61, of Bucyrus, was identified during the stop.
Swart admitted to having used prescription pills before driving. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed Percocet pills, Methamphetamine mixed with Fentanyl, and cash. These items were seized by the deputies on the scene.
Douglas Swart was arrested for Possession of Drugs and Tampering with Evidence. He was transported to the Crawford County Justice Center. A report will be forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for the consideration of additional charges.
