CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—On October 28, 2024, at approximately 11:46 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a call from 1513 Olentangy Rd. The property owner reported that his house had been shot several times. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered around 15 bullet holes. The scene was secured, and BCI&I assisted in the investigation.
Deputies and BCI&I found several spent casings and recovered bullets inside the residence. Security footage of suspects at the scene was obtained during the investigation.
On October 29, 2024, an arrest warrant was issued for Daniel P. Looney, 30, of Crestline, Ohio. Looney was arrested by the Ontario Police Department without incident and transported to the Crawford County Justice Center. A search warrant executed at Looney’s residence led to the seizure of firearms, ammunition, and electronic devices.
The investigation is ongoing, with a report to be submitted to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of additional charges. Sheriff Scott Kent urges anyone with information to contact Detectives at the Sheriff’s Office at 419-562-7906.
