BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford County Butterfly Foundation was started at the beginning of this year by Bucyrus resident and foster parent, Jordan Groves.

The purpose of the new non-profit is to provide foster children in Crawford County with new items, including socks, shoes, clothing, and birthday and Christmas gifts.

Groves recently obtained her foster license and accepted a placement into her home.

To help raise funds for Christmas gifts for the foster children of Crawford County this year, the Butterfly Foundation is holding a fundraiser during the Apple Bash at Pickwick Place on Saturday, September 28th. All proceeds from the “apple cannon” will be donated to the foundation.

The Butterfly Foundation accepts both monetary and product donations year-round. Groves frequently posts needed items on the foundation’s Facebook page. Foster children often come into homes during emergency situations. Most times, they have little more than the clothes on their backs.

The Foundation’s mission is to provide support items to help in the transition. Groves works closely with caseworkers to establish what foster children want and need. All donations are tax-deductible.

To learn more about how to donate, email the foundation at ccbutterflyfoundation@gmail.com. The foundation also accepts PayPal donations.
