BUCYRUS — In a county rivalry, Bucyrus edged Galion, 3-2, for its first tennis victory of the year.

In first doubles, Emma Graves and Addie Webber defeated the Lady Tigers’ Lily Diosi and Kaylee Evans, 6-4, 7-6 (with a 7-1 tiebreaker).

The Lady Red also won second doubles with Mya Rothhaar and Ella Green sweeping, 6-4, 6-1.

Bucyrus’ Layla Swerlein dropped Hannah Nelson, 6-4, 6-1, in second singles.

Galion got on the board when took down Adalyn Zornes, 6-4, 6-1, in first singles, and Ashley Franks won third singles over Amirah Price, 6-1, 6-0.

Lady Red won both junior varsity doubles matches. Lady Faye McCoy and Lily Engelhorn and Isabel Johnson and Savannah Clark each took 6-2 victories.

Bucyrus moves to 1-7 on the season. The Lady Red return to the court Monday at Mansfield Madison.

Galion falls to 0-6 on the year and plays at Clear Fork on Thursday.
