Friday was one of those evenings that had Bucyrus police officers double checking their calendars to make sure it wasn’t Friday the 13th.
Just shy of midnight officers responded to a call of a reckless driver in the 900 block of Union Street. The vehicle, a pick-up truck, had been driven on private property, crashed into a fence and fled the area. When officers did stop the truck on Whetstone Street near the fairgrounds, they discovered one of two passengers in the vehicle had been shot and was in need of medical attention.
That passenger, Tyler Wilmouth of Toledo, was transported from Bucyrus to Grant Hospital where he was treated and released. The driver, Laverne Lanko of Ridgeville, was cited for OVI and criminal damaging.
A shotgun was recovered from the Union Street scene.
Earlier that evening officers took Ray Craighead into custody after he fled from them on foot. Craighhead was arrested on warrants out of Crawford, Marion, and Lucas counties as well the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. He was also charged with failure to comply, resisting arrest, and falsification.
Craighead was transported to the Crawford County Justice Center pending a court appearance and extradition.
Friday afternoon, Bucyrus police arrested Robert Painter as a result of two Crawford County warrants. Painter was released pending a court appearance.
Brad Sinnes was also arrested because of two warrants issued in Crawford County. Sinnes was issued a court date and released.
Adam Mahley was arrested Saturday evening as a result of an incident that occurred Friday evening. Mahley will likely be charged with domestic violence and remains in custody while waiting to appear in court.
