GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— On July 31, 2024, a significant narcotics operation led by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and METRICH resulted in the indictment of a Galion resident, marking a major step in the fight against drug trafficking in the area.

The operation targeted Amanda Rector, 37, who resides at 1075 South Market Street in Galion. The Galion Police Department provided assistance in executing the search warrant at the said address.

Rector was indicted by the Crawford County grand jury for trafficking in methamphetamine over bulk amount and in the vicinity of a juvenile, a felony of the 2nd Degree.

During the search of the residence, deputies discovered additional quantities of methamphetamine exceeding the bulk amount. The search also yielded drug paraphernalia, a loaded syringe, and prescription medications.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is set to forward a report to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of additional charges.
