LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For the second time in her career, California (PA) junior Caleigh Rister was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) first-team all-region honoree at utility/pitcher.

Rister previously collected the award in 2022 when she was chosen the NFCA National Freshman of the Year. This spring, she led the team in virtually every hitting and pitching category while setting numerous career highs.

The Bucyrus, Ohio native ranked among the top 15 in the Atlantic Region with both a .434 batting average (62-for-143) and a .491 on-base percentage while splitting time between four different spots in the lineup. Rister also finished with 14 victories in the circle and totaled 119 strikeouts while working 18 complete games, which was among the top 10 in the region.

The 5-foot-4 Rister was chosen the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Athlete of the Year just over a week ago after being tabbed both the PSAC West Pitcher of the Year and PSAC West Freshman of the Year in 2022. She also earned All-PSAC West laurels for the third time in her career this spring, twice at utility/pitcher and once at pitcher.

Rister is now eligible for consideration on the NFCA All-America Teams that will be announced later this month. She was named a NFCA Second-Team All-American as a freshman in 2022.
