The long- ball proved to be the difference Wednesday night as the Lima Locos hit three of them on their way to a 6-5 victory over the Galion Graders. The loss drops the Graders to 4-13 while the Locos improve to 12-5 on the season.

Hunter Williams had a big two-run shot in the eighth that gave the Locos a 5-4 lead, then a pinch-hit, two-out solo blast off the bat of Nate Romans slammed the door on the Graders. Nick Riotto led the way for the Grader offense as he had two hits, four RBIs, and reached base four times.

Colten Carney and Kevin Shrock each added a hit and run scored for Galion.

The win went to Ryan Ruggles who threw two innings, giving up two runs and striking out one. Michel White picked up the save going two innings, allowing one run and striking out five.

Cody Brown was handed the loss for the Graders.

The Graders take the field again Thursday night when the Licking County Settlers come to town. First pitch is slated for 7:05 in Heise Park.
