MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Mansfield Division of Police is advising residents of significant road closures and potential traffic delays due to the National Day of Prayer Parade and Prayer Vigil on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

The parade is set to commence at 6:30 P.M. from Marion Avenue and will proceed east on Park Avenue West, culminating at the Central Park Gazebo for the Prayer Vigil, which is expected to conclude around 9:00 P.M.

For parade formation, Marion Avenue between Park Avenue West and Wood Street will be closed starting at 5:15 P.M. Additionally, Park Avenue West from Benton Street to Diamond Street will be closed to all traffic starting at 6:20 P.M. All auxiliary streets to Park Avenue West will also be closed one block out north and south of Park Avenue West.

The downtown Central Park area, including Miss Ohio Boulevard, will remain closed until 9:15 P.M. to allow for attendees to disperse. Detour signs will be posted to redirect traffic around the event.

The most impacted areas will be Main Street between 3rd Street and 2nd Street; Walnut Street between W. 3rd Street and W. 2nd Street; Mulberry Street between W. 3rd Street and W. 2nd Street; Sturges Avenue between W. 2nd Street to Park Avenue West and Bowman Street between W. 3rd Street and Park Avenue West. Residents are advised to avoid these areas after 6:00 P.M. to prevent road closures and traffic congestion.
