MARION — Galion tennis traveled to Pleasant on Wednesday and came home with a 4-1 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over the Spartans.
In first singles, the Tigers’ Cooper Kent defeated Alex Yancey, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Jack Rinehart swept Cael Bower, 6-4, 6-4, in second singles.
Ben Rinehart dropped Landon Severns, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, while Luke Tinnermeier and Carson Walker won first doubles over Ryan Wansik and Brady Werling, 6-0, 6-1.
Pleasant got on the board when Griffin Gleespen and Luke Russell slipped by Galion’s Logan Estep and Zach Moneysmith in three games, 6-1, 4-6, 0-6.
Galion improves to 1-1, 1-1 in the MOAC. Pleasant falls to 0-3, 0-3 on the young season.
