The bodies of two Bucyrus men were recovered Sunday evening in the Sandusky River near Upper Sandusky.
The bodies of 45-year-old Billy Zornes and 46-year-old Lewis Zornes were taken from the river following a long search Sunday evening. Both men were pronounced deceased at the scene by Wyandot County Coroner, Dr. Joseph Sberna.
The Upper Sandusky Police Department received a call at approximately 7:15 Sunday evening regarding two kayaks that had overturned in the river near the dam. Officers from the Upper Sandusky Police Department, Fire Department, Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.
The Ohio Division of Watercraft is continuing the investigation.
