CRESTLINE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Park District (CPD) is gearing up for spring break with a variety of educational and entertaining programs for children and adults alike. From puppet shows about stream life to stargazing and a high-tech egg hunt, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Puppet Pals Explore Stream Life

Dates: Thursday, March 21 (6:00 PM) & Friday, March 22 (11:00 AM & 2:00 PM)

Location: Lowe-Volk Park (2401 State Route 598)

Age: 3-7 years old and their parents

Join the CPD staff and their puppet pals on an adventure to discover the wonders of a stream. Learn about the different animals that call a stream home through this interactive puppet show, followed by a fun activity.

Help Remove Invasive Species

Date: Saturday, March 23 (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Location: Heckert Nature Preserve (1601 State Route 19)

Lend a hand in protecting the park’s natural habitats by helping remove invasive species like honeysuckle and barberry. Dress for the weather and bring gloves; tools will be provided.

Gaze at the Night Sky with Crawford Park Astronomy Club

Date: Saturday, March 23 (8:15 PM)

Location: Lowe-Volk Park (2401 State Route 598)

Explore the wonders of the cosmos with members of the Crawford Park Astronomy Club. Learn about celestial objects like the Beehive Cluster, Betelgeuse, the Crab Nebula, and more. Weather permitting, attendees will have the opportunity to view these objects through telescopes.

Embark on a Hi-Tech Egg Hunt

Date: Sunday, March 24 (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)

Location: Lowe-Volk Park (2401 State Route 598)

Experience a unique egg hunt using GPS units or QR codes on your smartphone. Follow the coordinates to find hidden eggs containing nature-based questions. Answer all the questions correctly to receive a prize!

Girl Scouts: Earn Your Animal Observer Badge

Date: Tuesday, March 26 (5:45 PM)

Location: Lowe-Volk Park (2401 State Route 598)

Calling all Daisy Girl Scouts! Join the CPD for an afternoon of learning and fun to earn your Animal Observer badge. Look for animal tracks, play camouflage games, and practice recording field notes.
