MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A fatal two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV is currently under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mansfield Post. The accident occurred on State Route 314, north of Millsboro Road, on March 3, 2024, at approximately 3:38 PM.

The collision involved a 2018 Honda CBR1000RR motorcycle, operated by Joshua Miller, 24, of Ontario, and a 2016 Dodge Journey, driven by Evan Gale, 32, of Mansfield. According to reports, Gale was attempting to turn left out of a private driveway onto SR 314 when Miller, who was northbound, laid down his motorcycle in an attempt to avoid a collision. Despite his efforts, Miller collided with the front of Gale’s vehicle.

Miller was transported to Ohio Health Mansfield by Springfield EMS, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Gale was not reported to have sustained any injuries.

State Route 314 was temporarily closed for the crash investigation, with assistance from the Ontario Police Department. Other agencies that assisted in the investigation include the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Township Fire and EMS, and Terry’s Towing.
