Torrential rains overnight on Monday not only saturated the ground, it flooded basements and covered city streets and country roads.
Bucyrus police reported placing barricades at several locations throughout the city including the railroad underpass on East Mansfield Street. Storm water retention ponds were rapidly filling as well.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reported placing high water signs at multiple locations and the dispatcher said the issue was widespread.
Although Galion police said they had no reports of high water as of 4 o’clock this morning, Crestline police said they had water across Doris Street.
A flash flood warning for Crawford County is in effect until 9:45 a.m. today. Motorists are warned not to drive through standing or flowing water.
