BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Following approval from the Planning Commission on Monday, it is possible that a third business will be constructed in Bucyrus this year. Onway owner Richi Singh expressed his intention to open a restaurant and potentially bring in a larger franchise like Starbucks or Chipotle.

The planned location for the new establishment is at 2121 E. Mansfield St., once construction of the Onway gas station on Marion Road is complete.

It should be noted that an Onway drive-through has already opened on South Sandusky Road.

Zoning Administrator John Rostash commended Singh for his dedication and commitment to the community, as he has invested in the city for over a decade through his gas stations.

City Engineer Dylan Wyatt has reviewed the application. He has stated that the stormwater detention facility for the project is overbuilt, and overall, the project is aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Singh has assured the city administration of his dedication to further investing in Bucyrus. Despite exploring other options in Ohio, he has decided to continue building in Bucyrus.

He plans to invite larger franchises like Starbucks or Chipotle to his facility, considering their potential service and usefulness to residents rather than just their monetary value.

In addition to the convenience store, Singh also plans to add a dining facility to the gas station, as this is his dream venture.

Construction could begin a few months after the project is approved by the relevant services in Richland County. It is important to note that commercial properties are approved in Richland County, not in Crawford County, according to project architect Don Highlandes.

Crawford County Now will continue to cover this developing story.
