BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Bucyrus Mayor Bruce Truka, City Auditor Kali Lewis, and City Council President Kurt Fankhauser have submitted a letter to the Ohio State Auditor’s Office requesting a fiscal review.

The letter states that Bucyrus’ ARPA funds have been depleted and that the city is at risk of financial collapse before the end of 2024.

This action was taken after a lengthy finance committee meeting, during which input was received from Bucyrus residents affected by a potential suspension of the out-of-town worker tax credit.

Councilwoman Vicki Dishon suggested contacting the State for assistance in determining the city’s fiscal status, which could range from Fiscal Caution to Fiscal Emergency.

Auditor Kali Lewis expressed her willingness to support the committee’s decision.

Crawford County Now has obtained a copy of the letter and supporting exhibits, Letter to State Auditor.
