Downtown Bucyrus will set the clocks back to a retro time this weekend for the XXIV Graffiti Cruise as classic cars and car enthusiasts descend upon the city.

Sandusky Avenue will be closed down from noon until midnight beginning at True Value up to East Mary Street. Cars dated 1979 and older will cruise the streets.

graffiti cartersWith preregistration closed, cars who want to participate in the event can register at the Bucyrus City Hall parking lot from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday. Last year’s Graffiti Cruise featured more than 600 cars cutting laps in downtown Bucyrus. Registration costs $20 with $5 going towards the Bucyrus Elementary Backpack Program.

While the car show celebrates all that is classic, a new event will take place at the Graffiti Cruise this year as the Bucyrus Outreach Restoration Network (BORN) will host a swap meet with parking at Hughes Hearing Center, Taco Bell, True Value, and Zeigler Electric. Registration begins at 7 a.m. in front of True Value with vendors setting up at 9.

Vendors interested in participating in the BORN swap meet should call 740-361-0368.

While the Graffiti Cruise takes shape from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., an Arts and Crafts show will take place at Picking Park.
