Francis “Dick” Garverick, 85, of Galion passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at home.

Born March 3, 1938 in Galion, he was the son of Kenneth and Ettamae (Gibbons) Garverick. He married Ruth A. (Perry) Garverick on December 1, 1957 and they enjoyed 66 years together.

He attended Iberia High School and worked many years at Ryder Brass, later worked maintenance at PECO and then at Erie Supply. Dick was a member of Galion Moose 303, American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 in Galion and Crawford County Antique Tractor Association. He enjoyed farming and his tractors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Dale (Marline) Garverick of Bucyrus, Kenneth (Missy) Garverick of Bucyrus, Mark (Nicole) of Crestline and Cindy Barton of Bucyrus; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Scott Garverick; brothers Harold, Howard, Gene and Paul Stroup and Charles “Butch” Garverick.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 6 with Pastor Larry Oxendine officiating. Burial will follow at Whetstone Cemetery.
