The Colonel Crawford Board of Education made short work of a special meeting Monday which included only one item on its agenda.

Board members approved a contract for Ontario Mechanical LLC to replace the mixing valve and chilled water and hot water pumps in the K-8 building.

Ontario Mechanical LLC was the lowest bid for the project with a bid of $34,800. The budgeted value of the project was $70,215. Standard Plumbing came in with the second lowest bid at $48,000 and CD Whitfield posted a bid of $52,000.

The project is part of the Brewer-Garrett Energy project. According to Colonel Crawford Superintendent Todd Martin the money that will be saved from the project will be enough to pay off the loan.

The project is set to begin next week with full installation to be completed by mid-July.
