**UPDATE**

The pedestrian in the 11/27/23 fatal train crash has been identified as 64-year-old Will T. Crace of Marion. Crace was observed inside the activated crossing gates, walking Eastbound in front of a train that was travelling NorthEast on the CSX tracks near Curve Street. No foul play is suspected. This investigation remains on-going as investigators await formal autopsy and lab analysis results.

MARION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train at a CSX crossing in Marion on Monday, according to the Marion Police Department.

The incident occurred at 4:02 p.m. on Nov. 27, 2023, at the CSX crossing on W. Center near Curve Street. Upon arrival, officers found the pedestrian deceased. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.

The Marion Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Marion Fire Department, the Marion County Coroner’s Office, and CSX personnel.

Further information regarding the incident will be provided in a follow-up release scheduled for dissemination on Nov. 28, 2023. The investigation is ongoing.
