BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Following yesterday’s bomb threat at Bucyrus City Schools, the Wynford School Resource Officer, Deputy Jo Stahl, took immediate action to meet with students at Wynford Middle School and High School.
Deputy Stahl educated the students on how to respond in such situations and emphasized the consequences of making such threats. She also encouraged students to make responsible choices and report any suspicious activity.
Unfortunately, after the first class meeting, a student wrote a bomb threat on a restroom wall, stating, “I’m bombing this school on 10/11/23.”
Another student reported seeing the threat during the next class meeting.
School administrators and law enforcement promptly investigated the situation. The student responsible for the threat was identified, admitted to their actions, and disciplined according to our school’s code of conduct. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is also filing criminal charges.
It is important to note that Wynford students were never in any danger, and there was no credible threat to their safety.
The Wynford School District is grateful for the swift response from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and commends the efforts of Deputy Stahl and Wynford’s administrative team in handling the situation.
