RICHLAND COUNTY— Richland County Dog Warden Missy Houghton is looking for information on a suspect who threw a young, German shepherd dog off a bridge and into a body of water near the Mansfield-Adario area.

The dog named Emerson is uninjured and doing well at the Richland County Shelter & Adoption Center on N. Home Road. A $1,000 dollar reward is being given by an anonymous donor for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

The Richland County Shelter is a non-surrender and no-kill shelter meaning dog owners cannot surrender pets to the facility. The Dog Warden only responds to stray cases.

Her owner, not the individual who threw her over the bridge, stepped in to redeem Luna. Luna had disappeared that night, prompting a search effort by her owner. They are continuing their active pursuit of information regarding the person responsible for the bridge incident.
