MANSFIELD—The Ohio State Highway Patrol has successfully conducted an OVI (Operating a Vehicle Impaired) checkpoint on September 9th, 2023, along US Route 42 near milepost 15 in Mifflin Township. The checkpoint, operational from 8 PM to 10 PM, saw a total of 421 vehicles passing through. Notably, one vehicle was diverted for further inspection, and no OVI-related arrests were made during the checkpoint.
Following the checkpoint, saturation patrols were deployed in the vicinity. These patrols resulted in 27 traffic stops, with four individuals arrested for OVI offenses.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) assisted in traffic control throughout the checkpoint operation.
