BUCYRUS—Kyle Benedict, aged 24 and residing in Bucyrus, was arraigned in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday. Benedict appeared via video conference from the Crawford County Jail.

Benedict is facing two charges of felonious assault, each classified as a second-degree felony with a potential sentence of up to eight years in prison. Additionally, he is charged with one count of endangering children, a third-degree felony carrying a possible sentence of up to 36 months in prison, and two counts of domestic violence, each considered a first-degree misdemeanor with a maximum jail term of 180 days.

Allegedly, Benedict and the female victim engaged in a heated argument regarding their finances. The dispute escalated to the point where Benedict strangled the victim, causing her difficulty in breathing. This violent attack led to the unfortunate incident where the victim dropped the baby she was holding, resulting in a fractured skull for the child. However, the baby has since recovered.
