Pamela McGowan, 67, of Galion passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at home and has battled cancer for years.

Born March 10, 1956 in Bucyrus, Ohio, she was the daughter of James and Patricia (Barlekamp) Charleston. She married the love of her life Charles “Charlie” Staats who preceded her in death earlier this year.

She was a graduate of Galion High School and Marion Tech. Pamela was an avid Betty Boop collector and enjoyed spending time shopping, especially with her grandchildren. She previously worked as a waitress and manager of the former L & K Motel and Restaurant in Galion and also worked for the Fairfield Inn and Holiday Express in Marion.

She is survived by her children, Heather (Jack) Goodyear of Galion and Jake (Amber) McGowan of Galion; eight grandchildren, Austin (Mercedes), Kevin, Zoey, Olyvia, Madison, Grace, Shelby and Matthew; two great grandchildren, Aubree and Bentley; brothers, Paul Charleston and Steve (Fern) Englehorn; sisters, Mitzi Vensel and Janet Vensel and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Charleston.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating.
