Helen Louise Miller passed away July 26, 2023 at home after a lengthy illness.

Helen was born June 18, 1941 in Galion, Ohio to Kinsel and Mabel (Snyder) Sipes who preceded her in death. She has one living brother, Paul (June) Sipes and a brother who also preceded her; Floyd Carl Sipes.

She is survived by her husband; LeRoy (Bill) Miller, Jr.; her children, Donna Lou (Mike) Yaussy, Mark (Melody) Miller; her grandchildren, Daren (Jessica) Yaussy, Mark (Brittany) Miller, Jacob (Sarah) Yaussy, Nathanial (Jenny) Miller, Hannah (Keith) Keeler, Elizabeth Yaussy, Sarah (Shane) Diven; nieces and nephews; Michael D. Sipes, Michael Brubaker, Lisa (Joel) Smythe, Becky (Mark) Steensland, Robert Sidell, Rebecca (Larry) Williford, Richard Sidell, Rachel Sidell; many great grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews.

Helen grew up in the Morrow County area on two different farms. She attended Iberia School, Edison School and Johnsville. Her favorite subjects were the nine years of 4-H, youth choir and Home Economics. She was a member of Ebenezer UMC of Galion, Ohio most of her life and attended Denmark UMC briefly during the early years of her marriage. She grew up with LeRoy at Ebenezer. During their senior years of school, Helen at Johnsville and LeRoy at Iberia, it was after they returned home from their senior prom that LeRoy asked Helen to marry him. They were united in marriage July 15, 1961. This year they celebrated 62 years of marriage. Helen was a wonderful cook, loved to sew, can food for the winter and gardening. She loved Helen Steiner Rice and any cookbook she could get her hands on. She collected owls and cats. She was active in Ebenezer UMC Women’s group, sang in the church choir and taught a children’s Sunday school class. Helen was very influential in guiding her children by her Christian example.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 4 with Pastor Sandy Stover officiating. Burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.

A celebration potluck meal will be held after the graveside service at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 8625 Ohio Route 19. Galion Ohio, 44833. Please bring a dish and or a dessert to share. Meat, drinks and paper products will be provided.
