GALION―The Crawford County Prevention Coalition announced its first-ever Amplified Expressions of our Journey event, set to take place at the Galion Community Theatre on August 12th. This highly anticipated event aims to unite the community in raising awareness about recovery through the power of artistic expression.

Admission to this evening is free, as the organizers endeavor to bring together local individuals in recovery who will share their personal stories with talented artists. The collaborative efforts will culminate in the creation of unique artworks that reflect the journey to recovery experienced by these courageous individuals.

The event’s primary goal is to combat the stigma surrounding substance use, which often impedes those struggling with addiction from seeking the help they need. Additionally, it isolates families affected by the disease, as they fear being judged by their own communities. By celebrating artistic expressions and the achievements of local residents, the Crawford County Prevention Coalition aims to foster hope and reduce this pervasive stigma.

The coalition welcomes sponsorships for the event, as it serves as a testament to the sponsors’ commitment to a community that can heal, rebuild, and restore the lives impacted by substance use disorder. Any donation, whether monetary or in the form of gift cards for door prizes or participant gratitude, will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged in the event program.

To contribute, interested parties are encouraged to complete the donation form and mail it to Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs at 151 Campbell Street, Marion, OH 44833. All donations are tax deductible.
