BUCYRUS—Dylan Adamson, 24, currently held in the Crawford County Jail, had his trial delayed after an evidentiary hearing held in the Crawford County Common Pleas on Tuesday.

Adamson was indicted last August on two counts of rape.

The alleged victim was 12 years old at the time of the incident.

The alleged victim was visiting Adamson’s mother in rural Crawford County when the assault occurred.

Allegedly Adamson invited her into his room to watch a video. The violation occurred while they were in his room. The rape charges, each a first-degree felony, resulted from Adamson assaulting the girl using his fingers.

The incident came to the attention of authorities about a week later after the girl told her mother what had happened to her.

Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold ordered the postponement.” Citing “very complex evidentiary issues” associated with the case, Leuthold told the attorneys he wanted to give both sides time to research case law.

Assistant Prosecutor Dan Stanley represents the State. Bucyrus attorney Andrew Motter represents Adamson.

A new trial date will be set.

If convicted, Adamson faces ten years to life in prison.
