MARION — Voters rejected an income tax renewal and a bond issue/tax levy for River Valley Local Schools Tuesday in the primary election.
The First Consolidated Fire District levy also failed. Big Island and Salt Rock townships passed their fire levies.
Former Marion Police Chief Bill Collins breezed to a win in the Republican Mayoral primary race, winning 907-197, over Sue McGowan.
A total of 3,042 ballots were cast out of 27,232 eligible voters in the county, for a turnout of just 11.17%.
