BUCYRUS—Jared Slagle, owner of New Creations Drywall and Restoration, hopes his idea to fund the opening of Aumiller Pool will catch on quickly.
When Bucyrus City Council declared the pool would not be open this season, Slagle decided to start a GoFundMe page to get donations toward the goal of $70,000 needed to operate the pool.
Slagle has fond memories from his childhood summers spent at the pool. He and his wife take their own children to the pool as well.
“As everybody knows that lives in this town, drugs seem to have taken over. Let’s help our kids steer away from that. Let’s raise this money to get these chemicals so we can get the pool filled, keep kids off the streets, and introduce them to the positive things in life.
Even if it’s just a cup of coffee guys let’s donate to help these kids.” Slagle said.
Slagle plans to turn the funds raised over to the city to help defer pool costs. Every dollar helps.
Bucyrus City Council has announced a special meeting of the Finance Committee will be held on Monday at 4:30 pm. The pool is one of the topics to be discussed.
