FOSTORIA — Crawford County teams were well-represented in the first Northern Ohio Bowling League championships held Saturday at Seneca Lanes.

Bucyrus girls finished first, 63 pins better that second-place Liberty-Benton, 2755-2692. Chloe Thompson rolled a three-game series of 438, good for third place individually. Kailey Horsley was fourth with a 426 and Maddison McDaniel placed fifth with a 414.

Liberty-Benton’s Avery Martin had the high series for the girls with a 481. Wynford freshman Addison Sebring was sixth with a 401 and Bucyrus’ Rylee Powers was seventh, also at 401. The Royals finished fourth as a team with a 2573.

Bucyrus was the regular season champion as well, finishing with an 11-1 record. Liberty-Benton was second at 10-2.

Wynford finished second on the boys’ side, falling to Liberty-Benton, 3720-3572. Sebastien Prince was the top bowler for the Royals with a 572 — including a 216 game — good for fourth overall, while Tyler Bindner was fifth at 545. Kobie Naufzinger (492) and Brian Schifer (484) were ninth and 10th, respectively.

The Royals were the regular season champions, but the Eagles held them off in the league tournament.

Bucyrus finished third with a 3381. Sophomore Seth Price was second overall individually with a sparkling 600 series, including a 233 game. Tyson McDaniel was seventh with a 508 and Codyn Coppler was eighth with a 494. Luke Teders of Liberty-Benton had the high series of 674.

The teams will return to Seneca Lanes this week for sectional tournament bowling. The girls are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Thursday. The boys will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday.
