A man on probation for cultivation of marijuana was caught with the weed again and although he avoided prison, he did not avoid a stern lecture.
Twenty-six-year-old Justin Gregory of Galion was sentenced to 60 days in the Crawford County jail and continued on community control. Gregory, who was originally convicted in a 2012 case, faced the possibility of a 36-month prison sentence on his original conviction when he admitted to violating probation by having marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cultivating marijuana again.
“Do you think it’s wise for you to continue down this path?” Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold asked Gregory. “We will not be having this conversation again if you are back here on another probation violation.”
The judge did note that Gregory has no criminal history involving opiates, violent crimes or somehow victimizing others.
