MARION―Cornerstone of Hope, a nonprofit comprehensive bereavement center serving central Ohio, is offering a free Traumatic Loss Bereavement Support Group Training for professionals living or working in Marion or Crawford county on March 9 and 10, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Marion Nazarene Church, 233 West Church Street, Marion, OH 43302. Lunch and all materials will be provided.
The training is sponsored by the Crawford Marion ADAMH and Delaware Morrow Mental Health Recovery Services Board through the Mid-Ohio Traumatic Loss Response Team, which provides free postvention support to survivors of suicide and overdose loss. This training is eligible for 12 CEUs and a certificate in Traumatic Loss Group Facilitation from Cornerstone of Hope. Candidates who complete the training will be qualified for contracted work with Cornerstone of Hope to facilitate Mid-Ohio Traumatic Loss Response Team support groups.
Eligible participants include clinical counselors, social workers, psychologists, frontline workers, ministers, and others in the helping field who live/work in one of the four counties. Candidates should possess qualities that include but are not limited to the following:
- Knowledge of traumatic loss and grief
- Trauma-informed practice
- Flexibility to facilitate group sessions
