Ava LaNee’ Frankart, 3, of Republic, passed away Saturday evening, January 7, 2023 at her residence.
Ava was born July 22, 2019, in Shelby, to Brandon and Sherry (Dawson) Frankart and they reside in Republic.
Other survivors include her brother, Dawson Frankart of Republic, maternal grandmother, Dee Dee Dawson of Shelby, paternal grandparents, Randy (Nancy) Frankart of Bloomville, paternal great-grandfather, Elbert (Lu Ann) Edeburn of Bloomville, aunts and uncles, Sally (Tom) Hoak, Mary Dawson, Amy Dawson, Kelly Dawson (David Amert), and Scott Dawson, all of Shelby and Matthew (Monica) Frankart and Dan (Chandler) Frankart both of Tiffin.
Ava was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Orva Dawson Jr. in 2020 and an uncle, Andy Dawson in 2018, her paternal great-grandmother, Martha Edeburn in 2004, and DeeDee & Charles Kemp and Orva and Donna Dawson Sr.
Ava was the only child in Ohio with Schinzel-Giedion Syndrome and there is only 50 kid’s world- wide who have been diagnosed. She was known as such an inspiration to all of the Schinzel-Giedion families and was such a warrior. She loved looking at toys that glowed and made sounds. Ava spent five weeks in the NICU and had numerous trips to the hospital and six surgeries in her lifetime, but she kept fighting. Ava wasn’t expected to live past infancy. She was known as Pumpkin by her Grandma Dee Dee and Grandma Nancy. She loved her bath time with her parents and grandma, she was our little butterfly.
Funeral services for Ava will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Bloomville United Church of Christ, on North Marion Street in Bloomville, with Pastor Tom Kagy officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday January 13, 2023, from 3-7 p.m., at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19, Bloomville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Schinzel-Giedion Syndrome Foundation in care of her parents, or to the funeral home, or to Bridge Hospice for their excellent care.
