CRESTLINE—Crestline Police Chief Jeff Shook submitted his resignation to Crestline Mayor Linda Pitt Horning on January 6, 2023.

Shook became Chief of the Crestline Police Department in 2018.

Before joining the Crestline Police force, he served as Chief in New Washington. Shook’s resignation letter stated (in part):

“I have been in Law Enforcement for 34 years and the time for me to hang up the handcuffs has come. Over the past several months it has become clear that my desire to deal with all that comes with the position I am in, has diminished to the point that it is starting to affect my physical, psychological, and emotional health.”

According to Mayor Horning, Officer Jason Kitzmiller has been named interim Chief until a new Chief can be appointed.
