CRAWFORD COUNTY—The Crawford County Farm Bureau donated funds to the Chatfield Volunteer Fire Department and the New Washington Fire Department in December. The funds will be used to purchase grain bin rescue equipment to aid in grain entrapment rescue situations.

“Rescue tubes and equipment make it safer for the fire departments to get to those in need quicker and help save lives,” said Crawford County Farm Bureau president Eric Hanes.

Crawford County Farm Bureau continues to focus on rural and farmer safety issues. Through local programming, Crawford County Farm Bureau encourages people to think before they act and supports farmer and fire department training in grain entrapment situations.
