Daniel William Nay II, age 62, of Marengo, formerly of Galion, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 after a tough battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was a financial planner with American Express before retiring to serve the community and care for others.  Dan was a care provider for Tim “Cookie” Jarvis; volunteered at the YMCA and the local church; trained athletes and coached baseball.

Dan was a lifelong sports lover.  His love started as a t-ball player and grew to the honor of playing professional baseball.  His love for the game grew to coaching little league, high school baseball and a very successful travel team. He had a passion for coaching and sharing his knowledge of the game.

Dan was born August 16, 1960 in Elyria, Ohio to Daniel W. and Betty A. (Trebilcock) Nay.  Dan had a lovely marriage to his best friend and wife of 38 years, Linda L. (Paul) Nay.  Dan and Linda had two children; daughter, DeAnna (Joshua Hanes) Nay; son, David Nay. They were blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Hannah, Adrian and Alexander.  Dan’s family also included a sister, Dana Nay; brother, Drayton Nay.

The family will be receiving friends from 9 AM to 12 Noon on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Snyder Funeral Home – DeVore Chapel, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3/36), Sunbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM on Monday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 State Route 37 East, Sunbury, OH.  Father Dan Dury, Celebrant.  Interment at Marengo Cemetery.
