Chuck Ketterman was a kind, engaging and socializing person. Charles A. “Chuck” Ketterman, 79, of Galion passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 22, 2022. He had been battling some recent health ailments.
He was born November 15, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio and was the son of Charles H. “Sam” and Anne (Danchisin) Ketterman. Chuck is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary (Franco) Ketterman whom he married on July 20, 1963.
Chuck graduated from Iberia High School in 1962. He started working for his dad in construction for several years and then went to General Motors in Ontario and retired after 38 years as a pipefitter.
Chuck was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion, Galion Masonic Lodge 414 and Baku Grotto in Mansfield. He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Being a licensed pilot for many years, Chuck loved to spend time with his friends at the Bucyrus and Galion Airport and flying his wife and family to his favorite destinations.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Chris) Nicholls of Galion and Madison Salyer of Columbus; three grandchildren, Chrissy (Jesse) Garcia, Bobby Nicholls and Andrew Nicholls; two great-grandchildren, Grady and Rowan Garcia; brother, Don (Becky) Ketterman of Palm Bay, Florida and a sister, Katy (David) Reeves of Galion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Ketterman Salyer and a nephew, David A. Reeves.
All services will be private for the family.
